Berry season in The Fraser Valley begins! Local Strawberries are here!
Exploring the Langley Community Farmers Market
Aug 23, 2015
Pulling into the parking lot at Kwantlen University in Langley, it’s hard not to feel the energy in the air. Home to the Langley Community Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 12:00 - 4:30, the courtyard is abuzz with vendors filling their tables with produce while shoppers mill around.
Live music floats through the aisles and everyone is in good spirits. This is not your average grocery shopping experience.
The Langley Community Farmers Market has a huge variety of produce vendors, locally grown garden plants, fresh baked goods, locally made wines and food trucks to keep your tummy full until you can get home to cook all your finds.
There are always meat vendors as well, including beef, chicken, and seafood and the market staff is available if you have questions or would like to learn about becoming a vendor yourself.
Artisan crafter have tables set up as well with beautiful pottery and jewellery and free parking is available during market hours.
On our visit, we couldn't help but take home some fish, gluten-free cookies, a few pints of strawberries and garlic scapes. No matter what's in season, the local growers are happy to teach you a bit about their produce and likely have a few recipes to share for how to prepare your finds.
Location: 20901 Langley Bypass
